Kevin Padian, president of the National Center for Science Education

Evolution, Education and 'Intelligent Design'

Kevin Padian is a professor of integrative biology at the University of California, Berkeley; curator of paleontology at the University of California Museum of Paleontology; and president of the National Center for Science Education. He served as an expert witness for the plaintiffs in Kitzmiller v. Dover, which successfully challenged the district’s decision to include the teaching of intelligent design alongside evolution theory. At the Clinton School, Padian will give a lecture titled "Evolution, Education and ‘Intelligent Design’: Lessons from the 2005 Trial in Dover, Penn." This lecture is hosted in partnership with Arkansas Darwin Day.
